What A Bride Needs To Know : Photography

Sofia Shakir What Bride Needs To Know Photographer

Wedding celebrations are back and the photos and videos capturing your most precious moments are important as they are your very own souvenir that you can look back and share with loved ones.

Here is a guide from our series of future-bride tips:

What a Bride Needs To Know: Episode 2: Secrets of a Wedding Photographer. Join our IGLive with Bhavna Pandya-Barratt, a professional photographer of more than 8 years in the wedding business.

Quick Tips:

Research:
Get to know your photographers. Look through portfolios, reviews, and consider referrals. Choose someone you like and have good vibes with. Get a chance to meet or chat online so you can be comfortable hiring your new photographer. A lot can happen in any event so it is best to choose a team you can trust.

Budget:
Include the photography/videography to your overall budget. It also depends on how big or intimate your event is and your goal of output. The range is £500 to £2500 depending on the photographer’s experience and expected outputs.

Itinerary and Shot list:
Let your photographers know along with other suppliers the schedules of your event to anticipate moments and location places. Prepare a shot list, may it be generic portraits and moments to special group posing of different family members or groups.

Communication:
Always keep in touch with your coordinator along with the suppliers like makeup artists, décor and food deliveries, important expected guests, and of course the photographers so they will know when or when to come in and just in case there are unexpected events, everyone can be informed and adjust accordingly.

Turnaround Time Delivery of Photos:
A simple wedding may produce up to 500 wonderful photos and may take up to 4 weeks to deliver.
For big events that may include multiple days for celebrations, a photographer may capture up to 5000+ photos and may take up to 12 weeks to deliver.
So, do take in mind the processing time for the photos and the photographer’s other scheduled events.

Unplugged Wedding
It is best practice if you booked an official photographer to let them capture your moments and ask for relatives or friends with smartphones or cameras to step aside. They may get in the way of taking precious moments from your professional photographer.

Relax
You’ve been planning for your wedding for a couple of months or longer with your coordinator or planner, just enjoy your day and bask in every emotion as it will reflect in your photos as you have fun. It is your day after all.
